Job Description: Respool Machine Operator

Reports To: Production Supervisor                              Revision Date: 02/28/2025
Shift: 2nd Shift – 2pm - 10pm                                         Pay Rate: $19.00/ hour base (shift differentials may apply)
             
Description: This position is for a Respool Machine Operator. This operator is someone who operates machinery with a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and precision. This operator is also knowledgeable on the handling of machines, follow safety protocols and follow standard operating procedures. This operator identifies potential issues, maintains equipment and reports malfunctions.

Essential Job Functions:                                                         

  • Operate line at a high rate of production while ensuring that quality standards are maintained.
  • Set up the respool machine.
  • Complete in-process quality control procedures.
  • Log production data into the database.
  • In addition, there are two essential job functions of every position at Rubadue Wire. These are integral to all actions throughout the day and therefore are not listed by amount of time. These two essential job functions are: ensure the safety of all employees and improve something every day
                                                                                                                    
Skills:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, and divide) on various units of measures. 
  • Ability to apply basic math functions to whole numbers, fractions, and decimals. 
  • Ability to make appropriate decisions in regards to machine setup and product quality.
  • Minimal knowledge and skill of mechanical operations.


Physical Functions: 
  • Ability to frequently lift up to 25 lbs and occasionally lift up to 55 lbs.
  • Ability to see small defects and differentiate colors during in-process quality control procedures.
  • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Required to use fingers and hands to handle or feel, grasp, reach, lift, push, and pull. 
  • Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. 
 
Work Conditions:  
The environment is typical of many indoor manufacturing facilities. This is a “Safety First” facility P.P.E. gear is mandatory with no exceptions!!! The noise generated within the facility is moderate but sometimes using certain equipment may require hearing protection. Employees frequently work on or around moving and heated equipment sometimes with extreme temperatures.
